SoundOn Distribution: Top Features & Wea... A major differentiator between music distribution companies today is customer support. The prevailing model - unlimited distribution for a flat annual fee - doesn't scale well for bargain distributors. You have a scenario where the client list is the size of a watermelon, and the customer support staff is the size of a golf hole. How a distributor scales customer support gives insight into what can be expected from its service. I like what Amuse has done to address the challenge of scale.
There are three plans offered by Amuse: Artist, Artist Plus, and Professional. Customer support breaks down like this across the plans:
Artist: Fast
Artist Plus: Faster
Professional: Priority (24 hrs)
Often, the people willing to pay the least cause the most customer support strain. The Professional plan is like a VIP area away from the crowded dance floor. If you prioritize customer support, you can choose to make it a core part of your plan.
In the support area on the Amuse website, you can chat with their AI assistant, AVA. I've communicated with AVA and found it very effective. It answered nearly every common question I could think of, and didn't leave me searching for a better answer. It's conversational and trained on Amuse's full knowledge base and platform. I could ask follow-up questions and dig deeper into aspects of features. It didn't simply pull up links to related articles in the FAQ. AVA can dramatically cut down the human customer support demand because many artists won't have to go beyond it to get answers.
Amuse cuts the watermelon into parts and shares it across plans and AI. The bulk of it will go to the Artist plan. A smaller slice will go to the Artist Plus plan. The tiniest slice will go to the Professional plan. AI cuts the slices of each plan into smaller slices that can fit the golf hole.
